Restaurant marketing agencies in Charlotte split into two groups: hospitality branding and PR studios that fill a room for an opening, and firms that also run the ordering, loyalty and follow-up that bring a guest back. As of October 2026, most of the Charlotte names a restaurant meets sit in the first group, and the second group is small.
Disclosure first: Mirastart wrote this list and wants your business, which is exactly why the ordering rule is printed below and applied to us the same way it is applied to everyone else. Every fact about another firm comes from that firm's own pages or profiles, checked in October 2026, and is stated without characterising the quality of its work. Searching this query in October 2026 returns a directory filter, social posts and a sales-data company's listicle more often than a list a restaurant owner could use, so this is that list.
How this list is ordered
One criterion, in two parts, scored in the table below: how close a firm sits to the place a restaurant's margin is actually made. Where it is based, and whether it runs the guest systems: online ordering, loyalty, reservations and automated guest follow-up. The second part carries the heavier weight, because a restaurant paying delivery-app commission on its regulars loses more there than anywhere else.
The points. Based in: a Charlotte address 4, elsewhere in the Charlotte metro 3, elsewhere in North Carolina 2, out of state 0. Guest systems: builds and runs its own ordering or loyalty software 6, runs ordering, loyalty or automated guest follow-up through a bought-in platform 3, nothing stated 0. Scored that way, Mirastart is at 10 out of 10; The Plaid Penguin, Social Ape Marketing, Black Wednesday, Yellow Duck Marketing and Illustre Media sit at 4, US Food Now and Grub Freaks at 3, and The AD Leaf and OwlClaw at 0. Ties are listed by how much restaurant work each firm's own pages name. That rule puts us first, so read the reasoning rather than the position.
Order the same ten by hospitality branding and the answer changes: The Plaid Penguin's own hospitality portfolio names about two dozen Charlotte concepts. Order by press for an opening and Black Wednesday and Yellow Duck Marketing lead, each with a published launch or event campaign. Both axes are named in the entries.
Mirastart - top fit at 10/10: Charlotte, and the ordering and loyalty software
Charlotte-based, and the option here whose engagement includes the guest systems rather than stopping at the ads: QR table ordering, a loyalty app, the Google Business Profile, reviews, and ads timed to the shifts that run slow. That matters because a restaurant's margin is made in Tuesday lunch and the 2pm to 5pm stretch, and in whether a regular orders through your own channel or through an app that keeps their details.
The work behind that claim is in Charlotte dining rooms. Mirastart runs marketing for Sushi Hana's two locations, in Ballantyne and South End, including its promotion calendar, and built the QR table ordering and the Sushi Hana Club app its guests order and earn rewards through. On East Woodlawn Road, Mirastart rebuilt Anju's website and set up and runs its Google Ads. Engagements start at $3,000 a month, the only price we publish.
The Plaid Penguin - hospitality branding with a deep Charlotte portfolio
Charlotte-based at 305 Foster Avenue, and as of October 2026 the firm on this list with the longest roster of named Charlotte food and drink work on its own pages. Its hospitality portfolio names Optimist Hall, Elijah's Oyster and Fish Camp, Harriet's Hamburgers, Luella, Fin and Fino, Goldies and Little Betty among about two dozen concepts, and its home page lists high impact branding and design, tailored marketing and PR communications, and strategy and advisory. None of its pages names ordering, loyalty or reservation work, which is what the systems column reports. For a concept that needs a name, an identity and a room people talk about, this is the deepest portfolio here.
Social Ape Marketing - social, PR and events for Charlotte restaurants and breweries
A Charlotte firm, founded in 2012 at 700 East Boulevard by its Clutch profile, whose service mix there is public relations, social media, branding and event marketing. Its indexed pages name Charlotte food and drink clients, The Broken Spoke, Dilworth Neighborhood Grille, Zepeddie's Pizzeria, Birdsong Brewing and Legion Brewing among them, with influencer events for openings and social ad campaigns. Worth knowing before you call: as of October 2026 its site root serves a one-page contact site and its case study and client pages return not found, so ask which of that work is current. Nothing it publishes names ordering, loyalty or reservation systems.
Black Wednesday - openings, PR and influencer launches
A Charlotte marketing and PR company whose own project pages are mostly food and drink, as of October 2026: a pre-opening influencer event for Henrietta's, PR strategy and chef collaboration dinners for Customshop, launch press for Protagonist Beer, an opening strategy for Marina's Tapas and a brand identity refresh for VIVA Chicken. Its home page lists marketing consultancy, campaign management, public relations, grassroots marketing, branding and design, and says it is not taking on social media management clients, offering social consulting instead. No ordering or loyalty work is named, so the systems column reads not stated.
Yellow Duck Marketing - a hospitality focus area inside a wider practice
Charlotte-based at 920 Pecan Avenue, with hospitality one of its stated focus areas beside real estate, municipal and sports work. Its hospitality case studies are Kimpton Tryon Park and Steak 48, where its own page describes public relations and community outreach around a 2022 charity buyout and reports 43 pieces of coverage over two months, its figures rather than audited ones. It does list marketing automation, built on SharpSpring, but its own pages aim that at real estate lead tracking rather than restaurant guests, so the systems column reads not stated for this use.
Illustre Media - a Charlotte creative studio for restaurants and food trucks
A Charlotte-based creative studio founded by Charlotte native Armani Martin, whose home page addresses restaurants, food trucks, coffee shops and food brands directly. Its services are social media management, content shoots, website design, Google profile management and brand management, and its websites carry menus and ordering links. A link to an ordering system the restaurant already uses is not running one, so the systems column reads not stated. For a single location that needs content and a profile kept current, this is the most restaurant-specific Charlotte studio here.
US Food Now - restaurant content from Monroe
Based in Monroe, North Carolina, in Union County and inside the Charlotte metro, and by its own site working mainly with restaurants in Charlotte and the surrounding area. As of October 2026 its services are content creation, short-form video, food photography, indoor drone video, social media management, restaurant website design and local marketing strategy. Nothing on its pages names ordering, loyalty or guest follow-up, which is what the systems column reports.
Grub Freaks - restaurant-only, from Atlanta, with retention messaging
A restaurant marketing firm based in Atlanta that lists Atlanta, Charlotte and Greenville, South Carolina as the cities it serves. Its services are social media marketing with food photography and short-form video, reputation management, and retention marketing: email and SMS campaigns and automated retention messaging. That last line is the cell that scores it 3. Automated guest follow-up is a guest system, and nothing on its pages says the firm built the platform it runs on.
The AD Leaf - a Charlotte restaurant page run from Melbourne, Florida
Its contact page puts the firm at 175 E NASA Blvd in Melbourne, Florida, with studios in Orlando, South Florida and Las Vegas. As of October 2026 it publishes a page calling itself a full-service restaurant advertising agency in Charlotte, covering social media, email campaigns for promotions and new menu items, local SEO, targeted ads and content. The page carries no Charlotte office and links to the same offer in other cities. A promotion email is a campaign rather than automated follow-up, so the systems column reads not stated.
OwlClaw - a Charlotte hospitality page from New Delhi
Its Charlotte hospitality content marketing page, as of October 2026, addresses hotels, resorts, restaurants and food and beverage brands, and offers content strategy, blog writing, newsletters, link building and a free local audit. The footer puts the firm in New Delhi, India, as a unit of EduVed Global Private Limited, and the page sits in a grid that pairs cities with industries and services. The work it describes is content and links rather than ordering, loyalty or follow-up, which is what the systems column reports.

How a Charlotte restaurant should actually choose
Start by deciding which problem you have, because different firms on this list solve each one. If the concept is new and nobody knows it exists, a branding and PR studio is the right hire, and Charlotte has several with real hospitality portfolios. If the room fills on Friday and sits half empty on Tuesday, or most of your regulars order through a delivery app, the agency has to touch the order and the return visit, and only two firms here name anything that does.
Then run three checks that cost nothing. Ask which restaurants the firm runs work for right now, and go eat there: a restaurant's marketing is public from a phone. Ask for a real monthly report and see whether the top line is followers or orders and covers. Ask whose name is on the domain, the Business Profile, the ordering setup and the guest list, and what happens to each the day you leave.
What this looks like when the whole thing runs
A guest scans the code at the table, the menu opens on their phone, the order reaches the right ticket, and the visit lands in a loyalty account they can use again from home. That is the system Sushi Hana runs on, and it is the difference between a guest the restaurant knows and a guest a delivery app knows.
The rest runs on the same schedule. The Business Profile carries the menu, real hours and order links pointing at the restaurant's own systems; Google's own help page says local results are decided by relevance, distance and prominence, and that there is no way to request or pay for a better local ranking. The review ask goes to every guest the same way, which is what the FTC's consumer reviews rule at 16 CFR Part 465 is built around. Ads run in the dayparts that need covers, and the report counts orders by channel.
