Home services marketing agencies in Charlotte fall into three groups: trades-only shops that have marketed contractors for years, generalist agencies with a home-services page beside their legal and medical pages, and out-of-state firms running a Charlotte landing page from somewhere else. As of October 2026, only a few of them also run the missed-call, booking and follow-up systems a contractor leaks jobs through.
Disclosure first: Mirastart wrote this list and wants your business, which is exactly why the ordering rule is printed below and applied to us the same way it is applied to everyone else. Every fact about another firm comes from that firm's own pages, fetched in October 2026, and is stated without characterising the quality of its work. Searching this query in October 2026 returns agency review cards and a directory filter whose six Charlotte listings are self-submitted, so this is the list a plumber, HVAC owner, electrician or roofer could actually use.
How this list is ordered
One criterion, in three parts, scored in the table below: how close a firm sits to the place a contractor's jobs are actually won or lost. Where it is based, whether the trades are its practice or a page, and whether it runs the systems after the phone rings: missed-call text-back, online booking, quote follow-up and the review ask. The third part carries the heaviest weight, because a lead that nobody answers costs a shop more than a lead it never got.
The points. Based in: a Charlotte address, or Charlotte stated as the firm's base, 3; elsewhere in the Charlotte metro 2; Charlotte as one of many city pages with no office named 1; elsewhere, or no location stated, 0. Practice: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing or the residential trades are the whole firm 3; a dedicated home-services practice with its own trade pages inside a wider agency 2; a generalist with one home-services, contractor or commercial-trades page 1; nothing named 0. Systems: builds and runs its own missed-call, booking and follow-up software and shows it running 4; runs missed-call text-back, AI call answering or automated lead follow-up on a platform it does not say it built 2; booking or CRM integrations, field-software logos or a single automation result named without a described service 1; nothing stated 0.
Scored that way, Mirastart is at 9 out of 10; Effective Media Solutions, Surge Digital Marketing, Overtop Media and Boxi Marketing sit at 7, Contractor Growth Network at 6, Valve+Meter at 5, and BRK Global Marketing, One House Marketing and Skill Mammoth at 4. Ties are listed by how much trade work each firm's own pages name. That rule puts us first, so read the reasoning rather than the position. Order the same ten by trades-only tenure instead and Effective Media Solutions and Surge Digital Marketing lead, because contractors are all either firm works with. Order by remodeling and Contractor Growth Network leads outright. Both axes are named in the entries.
Mirastart - top fit at 9/10: Charlotte, and the systems after the phone rings
Charlotte-based, with a home-services practice that has its own HVAC, plumbing, electrical and roofing pages inside a wider agency, which is why the practice cell scores 2 rather than 3. The systems cell is where the score comes from: Mirastart builds and runs its own software rather than configuring a bought-in platform. The live-availability booking system on mirastart.com and the online booking and repair-status software Quick Auto NC runs its bays on are the same missed-call, booking and follow-up mechanics a contractor loses jobs through, and both are live rather than described.
The trade work you can open right now is the website for Lightning Power Electric, a Charlotte electrical contractor, and the website for Carolina Sky Painting, a Charlotte home-services contractor, each built to load fast, get found and turn a visit into a quote request. Every trade engagement is reported in booked jobs, with the numbers, and you own the site, the Business Profile and the ad account throughout.
Effective Media Solutions - the Charlotte trades-only specialist
Based at 13000 South Tryon Street in Charlotte and, as of October 2026, the firm here with the longest trades-only focus by its own description: it calls itself an HVAC, plumbing and electrical marketing agency and says it only works with contractors, with a Who We Help menu that lists HVAC and plumbing. Its services run from SEO, AI search optimization and website design through TV, radio, streaming and billboards, direct mail, pay-per-click, Local Services Ads, email, social media, text message marketing and CSR quality control. Its pages show Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan and WhatConverts logos without saying what it does with them, which is what the systems cell reports.
Surge Digital Marketing - fence, HVAC and home services since 2019
Charlotte, North Carolina by its own pages, with no street address published, and dated since 2019 in its header; Seth is listed as founder and co-owner and Carson as co-owner. Its own line is that it built The Silo System for fence, HVAC and home service companies, it runs sub-brands named HVAC Marketing Xperts and Fence Marketing Xperts, and its memberships include the Radiant Professionals Alliance, the American Fence Association and the National Association of the Remodeling Industry. Services are local SEO, website SEO, paid ads, web design and social media. One client result names appointments booked by voice AI, and Jobber and Housecall Pro appear as partner logos; no systems service is described, so the cell scores 1.
Overtop Media - a Charlotte generalist with real trade pages and booking integrations
Based at 933 Louise Avenue in Charlotte, and the broadest firm on this list: more than twenty sectors, with a home-services section that names HVAC, plumbing, electricians and roofing as specialties and a construction and remodeling section for general contractors and custom home builders. As of October 2026 its services are paid advertising across Google, Microsoft and Spotify, social ads, SEO, Google Business Profile, Local Services Ads, web development and tracking. Its home-services web design pages name real-time online booking integrations, instant SMS and email replies to service inquiries within minutes and automated email follow-up, which is why its systems cell scores 2 rather than 1.
Boxi Marketing - missed-call text-back and AI answering on a plan
Charlotte is its home base by its own pages, with no street address, serving Concord, Huntersville, Matthews, Mooresville and Gastonia. Its trade pages cover HVAC, plumbing, roofing, landscaping and pest control, beside attorney and chiropractic pages, so it scores as a dedicated practice inside a wider firm. As of October 2026 it is the most explicit firm here about the systems: its pages say AI texts back every missed call, promise AI lead follow-up by text within ten seconds, put a 24/7 AI voice assistant on one plan and custom CRM integrations on another, and run automated review generation. Nothing on them says whether that software is its own or licensed, which is the line between a 2 and a 4.
Contractor Growth Network - design-build remodelers only
Based at 5200 77 Center Drive in Charlotte, and the clearest about who it is for: it says it focuses exclusively on design-focused contractors and names two to seven million dollar design-build remodeling firms as its fit. Its president, Logan Shinholser, describes starting the firm after marketing his father's koi pond business. Services, as of October 2026, are market research and strategy with a free three-week discovery process, remodeling website design and development, and SEO and AI search for remodelers. Contractors are the whole practice, so that cell scores 3, but a plumber, HVAC shop, electrician or roofer is not who its pages address. No booking, text-back or follow-up service is named.
Valve+Meter - a trades-only national firm with a Charlotte page
Built for the trades, by its own tagline, with HVAC, plumbing, roofing and electrical at the front of a list that runs to foundations, solar, pest control and garage doors. Its site publishes no street address, only a toll-free number; its Charlotte page, one of about sixty city pages, says it works with home services businesses across the country and that Charlotte contractors have worked with it for years, and none of the five case studies it names is identified as a Charlotte shop. Agency directories and a 2017 launch report place it in Indianapolis. Services include SEO, Local Services Ads, paid social, direct mail, call tracking and email and SMS; HubSpot and ServiceTitan appear as logos. As of October 2026.
BRK Global Marketing - a Charlotte brand agency with a commercial MEP page
Based at 919 Berryhill Road in Charlotte, with partners grouped as manufacturing, construction, sports and automotive, food and beverage, technology, professional services, non-profit, and health and education. Its logo wall includes Caryl Mechanicals Heating and Cooling, Griffin Heating and Air Conditioning and Poole's Plumbing, and a July 2026 post addresses commercial mechanical, electrical and plumbing contractors in the Carolinas and Augusta, Georgia, saying plainly that commercial MEP marketing is not residential trade marketing. Services are growth strategy, branding and identity, digital marketing, web design and development, motion and its TargetedIQ advertising platform. For a residential contractor the practice cell is one commercial page, and no systems are named.
One House Marketing - a 2026 trades-only launch with no stated location
Launched in January 2026 by co-founders Emily Morosi-Catan and Laura Latora, whose own timeline roots the team in a home service company serving customers since 1996. Its trades are HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing and restoration, and nothing else, which scores the practice cell 3. Its pages name clients in more than a dozen states and a toll-free number but no city, state or office, and its cities page returned not found in October 2026, so the location cell scores 0. Services run from web design, local SEO and review generation through Google, Local Services, ChatGPT, Bing and Yelp ads, geofencing, direct mail, yard signs and recruitment marketing. CRM integration and automated lead routing within seconds is named; customer-facing follow-up is not.
Skill Mammoth - AI phone agent and text-back, run from Minnesota
Minnesota is its home state by its own locations page, which lists thirty-eight cities including a Charlotte HVAC page and statewide North Carolina coverage. Home services sit beside professional services on its pages: roofing, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, cleaning, lawn care, pest control and remodeling on one side, consultants, medical, legal, staffing and accounting on the other. As of October 2026 its systems language is the most specific of the out-of-state firms: an AI phone agent that answers and books every missed call, missed calls texted back automatically day or night, leads answered in under sixty seconds, and custom CRMs and dashboards built around how you sell. Run on a platform it does not say it built, so the cell scores 2.

How crowded the Charlotte trades actually are
The Census Bureau's 2023 County Business Patterns county file counts 1,846 specialty trade contractor establishments in Mecklenburg County, NAICS 238, employing 22,261 people. Inside that, 300 are plumbing, heating and air-conditioning contractors, 277 are electrical contractors and 97 are roofing contractors. Those are the shops bidding against yours in the map pack and in Local Services Ads for the same searches, and the reason a Charlotte landing page written from another state is not the same as a strategy written about this county. Every firm above will tell you Charlotte is growing; the question is which of those 300 plumbing and HVAC shops a homeowner on Providence Road sees first.
How to choose, trade by trade
The same ten firms fit different trades differently, because the job arrives differently. Four short tests, one per trade; our own practice pages for HVAC, plumbing, electrical and roofing marketing go deeper on each.
Plumbers
Plumbing demand is an emergency more often than any other trade here, so the first question is what happens to a call nobody answers at 9pm. Ask the firm to show the missed-call text-back running on a real number, and ask what unit its monthly report is in; a report counting calls can rise in a month that booked fewer jobs.
HVAC shops
Charlotte's cooling season runs from April into October, and the heating conversation here is heat pumps and aux heat rather than furnaces, so ask when seasonal content goes live and whether the firm runs Local Services Ads and when enrolment starts. Our HVAC-only version of this list goes deeper on that field.
Electricians
Panel upgrades, EV chargers and tenant fit-outs are quoted jobs rather than same-day calls, so the leak is the quote nobody chased. Ask what the follow-up looks like on day two and day seven after a quote goes out, and whether the site makes licence and insurance visible where a homeowner looks for them.
Roofers
Roofing demand moves with storms and seasons and most of it is replacement, so ask where the budget actually runs: which zip codes, which neighbourhoods, and whether the firm can show the service-area targeting rather than describe it. Ask too how its roofing work differs from its plumbing work; a templated answer is the tell.
What this looks like when the whole thing runs
What happens to a call nobody answers is the question every trade on this page shares, and the answer when the system runs is that the caller gets a text within seconds, the text offers a booking link with live availability, and the booking lands on the calendar the shop already runs its day from. The quote that goes out on Tuesday gets a follow-up on Thursday and again the next week, and the finished job triggers the review ask, the same way for every customer.
The rest runs on the same schedule. The Business Profile carries the right categories, real hours and service areas; Google's own help page says local results are decided by relevance, distance and prominence, and that there is no way to request or pay for a better local ranking. Local Services Ads rank on bid and profile quality, and Google's ranking page says plainly that missed calls may negatively affect your responsiveness, which is one more reason the text-back is not optional. The report arrives in booked jobs, and the shop owns every account the day it leaves.
